clara h is a scotland-based multidisciplinary artist
their work explores infrastructures - energetic, emotional, and social - that shape conditions of experience, being and relation.
working across sound, text, sculpture, and research, they are drawn to; resonances between structure and feeling; in other words - the invisible architectures that support, constrain, and organise experience; in other words - the intimacies produced by the infrastructural arrangement of the world.
across their practice, they seek to perceive what circulates beneath the surface of the everyday, following materials and meanings as they move across the surface of time.
often, they make images, videos, sculptures and texts that serve as notations or maps for accompanying sonic compositions.


currently, they are thinking through questions of grief, desire, transmission and the violent folds of energetics and extractions; exploring thresholds - moments where forms begin to overflow themselves, where knowledge is revealed as partial when the light shifts. 
they are interested in attending to asking how bodies and worlds fold up and into one another.

often, they work in collaboration with their partner, dianne burdon, in the research collaboration ‘extense’, which is a project of playful study centred around untangling the epistemic constraints of energy futures.

alongside their artistic practice, they are committed to artist-led education, collective learning, and alternative pedagogies. recent participation in LungA radio school has deepened an engagement with radio broadcasting as both an artistic medium and a collective methodology for organising, listening, and making together.
